Tutors

There are several tutors teaching at High Peak Photography, each with expertise and experience in their particular field.  All are qualified, college trained, working professional photographers, with a background in film and traditional darkroom work, although as working professionals they all now work predominantly with digital equipment.
Although they all work independently, they also work together to create an efficient team with many years combined photographic experience.

Julia Reid , BA (hons) photography, ABPPA, LBIPP, ARPS

Photography has been Julia’s passion for as long as she can remember and she considers herself lucky to have been able to turn this passion into a full time career.

Although her commercial work is predominantly digital at the moment, her passion is large format photography and she loves working in a traditional darkroom.

Although working originally as a commercial photographer, She has been commissioned by Eve Magazine, has had photographs published in a number of magazines and tourism publications and regularly photographs weddings and events. She has also twice been one of the official photographers for the World Fire fighters Games, a charity event, larger than the Commonwealth Games with competitors attending from all over the world.

She is also teaching photography in Derbyshire and the south of France.

Chiz Dakin (HND photography)

Chiz Dakin is a professional landscape, outdoors adventure, and travel photographer (& writer) based on the fringes of the Derbyshire Peak District.

She combines a passion for photography with a love of the outdoors and outdoor activities, and is never happier than when summiting a mountain, diving the oceans, trekking into the wilderness or at home in her own playground of the Peak District.

She is a member of the Outdoor Writers and Photographers Guild, Writers and Photographers Unlimited, and the Derbyshire-based Creative Industries Network.
